Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro and its first foldable, the iPhone Duo, at its September 9, 2026 event. While exciting, many features are familiar to Android users. The Duo's passport-style design echoes Google's Pixel Fold and Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Apple Pencil support on both screens mirrors Samsung's S Pen on Galaxy Z Fold phones. The under-display camera on the inner screen was used by Samsung until last year's Z Fold 7. The anti-reflective nano-texture coating also appeared on the Z Fold 8.

Hinge flexibility, allowing partial folds for hands-free use, is a hallmark of Samsung's Flex Mode. In essence, Apple's new devices refine concepts that Android brands pioneered, offering polish but not originality.
