iPhone Duo Foldable Review: Price, Specs, and More

The iPhone Duo is finally official, and it's going on sale starting at $1,999. This foldable features a wider design with two panels, combining a phone and tablet in one. Apple calls it a "thoughtful design with breakthrough engineering," though the name isn't the most original—Microsoft might have something to say about that.

Unlike typical book-style foldables, the iPhone Duo uses a shorter, wider form factor. It sports a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner panel, housed in a titanium chassis. At 5.3mm unfolded and 254g, it's not the thinnest or lightest, but it offers IP68 dust and water resistance.

The inner screen uses two layers of glass to prevent deformation, a common issue with foldables. It also features a nano-texture coating to reduce glare. The hinge is designed to fold fully flat with a smooth articulation and custom torque profile, staying open at various angles for hands-free use.

For security, the iPhone Duo uses Touch ID in the power button instead of Face ID. The camera setup includes a 48MP main and ultrawide lens, but lacks a dedicated telephoto. It runs on the A20 Pro chip with storage options from 256GB to 2TB. Pre-orders begin October 16.
