Apple's first foldable, the iPhone Duo, is finally official, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. While Apple has borrowed from Android, the reverse is also true. Here are five iPhone features Android phones should adopt.

The iPhone Duo's foldable nano-texture display reduces glare, reflections, and fingerprints while making the crease less visible. No Android foldable currently offers a matte finish, though some have anti-reflective coatings. This matte surface also supports the Apple Pencil and improves daylight visibility.

Android pioneered under-display cameras (UDC) but abandoned them. Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 3 through 6 had UDCs, but the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra reverted to hole-punch cameras. Apple's new UDC handles 1080p video at 30FPS or 60FPS, making it suitable for video calls while keeping the folding display immersive.

The iPhone 18 Pro introduces a variable aperture primary shooter (f/1.8 to f/4.0), reviving an old Android feature. Apple achieved this with six laser-cut blades. This allows for better control over depth of field and low-light performance.

These features—matte foldable displays, under-display cameras, and variable apertures—would greatly benefit future Android phones. Hopefully, Android manufacturers will take note and bring them back.
