Back in July, Apple updated its TestFlight app with a basic search feature. While the update was welcomed, it introduced a frustrating bug: expired betas were scattered among active ones in an alphabetical list, expanding to include every beta a user had ever tested. For some users, this meant nearly 800 app listings, making active betas hard to find despite the new search.

John Vorhees at Mac Stories and Zac Hall at 9to5Mac highlighted the issue, with John Gruber later noting the sort order change was unintended. After more than a month, Apple released TestFlight version 4.3.1, which fixes the regression. The update, available for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and more, restores proper beta organization while retaining the search functionality.

Apple confirmed the fix addresses the sorting issue without mentioning it explicitly in release notes.
