Argus Media data shows the premium pushed diesel prices to $198.73 in southern Europe and $194.47 in northern Europe.

Analysts warn the gap could widen further due to refinery maintenance and ongoing supply tightness. Roughly 1.3 to 1.4 million barrels daily are missing from international shipments. While diesel cracks in the US also breached $100, European markets face particular pressure from Russia's September 30 export ban deadline.

The price rally adds cost pressures on motorists and farmers already grappling with elevated energy costs amid persistent global refined product shortages.
