KKR has agreed to make a minority investment in Avisena Healthcare, a Malaysian hospital operator. The investment comes as Malaysia's private healthcare market sees rising demand, with capacity growth lagging in key urban areas.

Since 2004, KKR has invested more than $20bn across the global healthcare ecosystem. Its Asia-Pacific portfolio includes Medical Saigon Group in Vietnam and Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings in the Philippines, alongside healthcare businesses in India, Japan, and China.

In Malaysia specifically, KKR's prior investments span OMS Group, Weststar Aviation, and Taylor's Schools, giving it a base of local experience to draw on as a strategic partner.
