Great Britain men's wheelchair basketball team secured bronze at the Wheelchair Basketball World Championships, defeating Germany 67-56 in the third-place play-off. After conceding an early lead in Ottawa, GB scored twice in less than a minute and maintained the advantage for the remainder of the game. Gregg Warburton led the scoring with 20 points for the British side.

This victory marks the men's third consecutive World Championship medal, following gold in 2018 and silver in 2022. Their consistent podium finishes highlight the team's growing strength on the international stage.

Meanwhile, GB women missed out on a medal after losing 63-50 to the Netherlands in their own third-place match. Captained by Sophie Carrigill, the British women trailed after two periods but managed to level the score at 44-44 heading into the final quarter. The Netherlands, champions in 2018 and 2022, dominated the closing period with a 19-6 run to claim the bronze.

Despite the loss, fourth place represents a significant improvement for GB women, who finished ninth at the 2022 tournament in Ottawa.
