A 19‑year‑old has denied sending a racist message to England defender Jess Carter on Instagram. Aaryan Aggarwal, of Dickens Rise in Chigwell, Essex, is accused of calling Carter "stupid" and "ugly" and using a racial slur on 17 July 2025 while she was playing in England’s Women’s Euro 2025 quarter‑final. The case was heard at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court, where prosecutor Grace Court said the message read "well done, stupid ugly" before the slur.

Aggarwal pleaded not guilty to sending an offensive communication and will stand trial in March. He was arrested in September as part of the investigation.
