NBA Headlines
Victor Wembanyama’s right ankle soreness kept the Spurs out of Thursday’s 136-131 loss to the Nuggets, where Nikola Jokic dominated with 32 points and 12 rebounds, extending Denver’s Western Conference lead. The injury derailed San Antonio’s playoff hopes, as Wembanyama’s absence left a 12-point scoring void.
Eastern Conference Outlook
The Knicks’ 42-25 record faces critical roster questions, with Jeremy Lin and OG Anunoby cited as potential replacements for injured players. Meanwhile, experts highlight Tre Johnson and GG Jackson as “silly season” breakout candidates, with Johnson projected to boost Phoenix’s defense and Jackson tipped for scoring surges. Analysts warn that unresolved issues—including Jalen Brunson’s contract and Karl-Anthony Towns’ fit—could derail New York’s title bid despite their current third-place standing.
