Player Health & Performance
Victor Wembanyama's absence proved costly as the Spurs fell 136-131 to the Nuggets without their star center nursing right ankle soreness. Meanwhile, the Celtics' Jaylen Brown criticized league trends, calling out what he sees as excessive "foul baiting" that's changing the game's integrity. "I just don't think it's basketball," Brown said, voicing frustration with how modern officiating rewards certain behaviors.
Strategic Roster Moves
As the NBA's "silly season" intensifies, experts are identifying breakout candidates for the final regular season stretch. Lesser-known players like Tre Johnson and GG Jackson are emerging as valuable additions for teams looking to gain an edge. This comes as the Knicks face mounting pressure to solve their offensive chemistry, with questions about whether stars Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson can find their rhythm before the playoffs. Despite holding third place in the East at 42-25, New York needs to address several issues quickly if they hope to make a deep postseason run.
