Alpine F1 executive Flavio Briatore expressed "extreme disappointment" following his team's double DNF at the Azerbaijan GP. Franco Colapinto locked his front tyres on the dusty inside of the Baku street circuit during a lap 36 restart, collecting Pierre Gasly and Lando Norris. Both Gasly and Norris were upset with the incident, with Norris calling for a one-race ban.

Briatore criticised Colapinto's driving, stating he "braked far too late" and called it "a very poor move for a driver of his experience." Despite the incident, Briatore confirmed Colapinto has signed a new deal to remain at Alpine through 2027. The Argentine driver had been enjoying his strongest F1 form prior to the crash. Briatore said he would reflect on necessary action to avoid future repeats, acknowledging the team lost valuable championship points due to the collision.
