Project Free CORE continues the TrueNAS CORE 13.3 system as an independently maintained operating system on FreeBSD. Version 15.0-U1 is now stable. TrueNAS CORE 13.3 systems can upgrade directly to 15.0 in place and continue on the project's update train.

The project provides an install guide at freecore.org/install and downloads including FreeCORE-15.0-U1.iso for in-place upgrades. Source code is hosted on Codeberg at codeberg.org/freecore with a mirror on GitHub at github.com/freecore-project. Users can report reproducible bugs via issues, join IRC at #freecore on Libera Chat, or contact [email protected] for general inquiries and [email protected] for security matters.

The project acknowledges original authorship from FreeNAS, TrueNAS CORE, FreeBSD, and OpenZFS, with credit preserved in source license headers.
