Sonos has announced the Beam Ultra, a premium soundbar featuring true 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos support. Pre-orders start today with availability beginning September 29 at a price of $699. The refreshed model boosts driver count from five to nine, including five tweeters and four low-profile woofers.

The upward-firing drivers enable genuine Dolby Atmos spatial surround sound, improving on the standard Beam which lacks upward-facing drivers. The Beam Ultra supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and HDMI eARC connectivity, and includes AI Speech Enhancement with four adjustable levels via the Sonos app. It can serve as the core of a home theater system when paired with other Sonos products, using portable speakers as rear surrounds.

Sonos also introduced the Ace Ultra headphones and announced a major software update for enhanced audio setup control.
