Xbox vows more PS5 releases and ports in 2026

In a GamesRadar interview, Craig Duncan, head of Xbox Game Studios, admitted the company has been uneven about delivering titles on the PlayStation 5. He promised that, starting in 2026, Xbox will “be more consistent” with PS5 launches, aiming to let fans of franchises like Fable enjoy the same experience across consoles.

Yet Duncan cautioned that each title and platform presents unique challenges. Simultaneous releases on Xbox, PC, and PS5 can overburden development teams, so staggered launches or post‑launch ports remain viable. Some games may debut on PC first, others on Xbox hardware, reflecting Xbox’s broader push against platform‑exclusive deals.

Meanwhile, Sony is reportedly testing a Cross‑Buy feature that would let a game purchased on console appear in a player’s PC library. If implemented, the move could blunt Xbox’s multi‑platform advantage and give consumers smoother access to titles across ecosystems. Industry watchers will see whether the feature rolls out before the next console generation.
