The Dark Rites of Arkham, a new Lovecraftian point-and-click adventure, has launched on PC via Steam and Itch.io. Developed by Postmodern Adventures, the game follows Detective Jack Foster as he investigates a gruesome ritual murder in the city of Arkham. The case takes a supernatural turn when Foster discovers connections to three witches who escaped the Salem trials in 1693 and a conspiracy that threatens the world.

Players will explore more than 70 detailed pixel art backgrounds while solving inventory-based puzzles. The story draws heavily from H.P. Lovecraft's works, featuring appearances by iconic characters like Herbert West, Keziah Mason, and Henry Armitage. The game's jazzy ambient soundtrack was composed by Matías J. Olmedo, known for his work on An English Haunting.

A major attraction within the game is the Arkham Museum of the Unusual, where players can view artwork by the fictional painter Richard Upton Pickman. The game is available at a base price of $14.99 USD with a 10% launch discount running until February 17.
