Samsung Electronics unveiled Flex Titanium technology for next-gen Galaxy foldables, built on seven generations of foldable innovation. The redesigned display integrates a titanium-alloy film and titanium plate to balance slimness, flexibility, and strength, delivering enhanced durability and reduced crease visibility.

"Samsung's strength comes from connecting user needs with technologies that deliver tangible benefits," said Sunghoon Moon, EVP of Mobile R&D. The company leveraged deep consumer feedback across generations to address demands for larger immersive viewing with less visible crease without compromising durability. The titanium-alloy film provides 20 times greater mechanical stiffness than polymer film at roughly one-third the thickness of a human hair, enabling a slimmer panel.

A robust titanium plate beneath eliminates air gaps through advanced hole processing, providing stable support when unfolded while retaining folding flexibility. Kyung-Jin Yoo, EVP of Mobile Display Product Development, noted that micro-patterned holes in the folding section secure flexibility with durability. Combined with high-resolution architecture and next-gen organic materials, the display delivers ultra-vivid resolution with reduced power consumption.

Flex Titanium technology will debut in Samsung's next-generation Galaxy foldable devices, with details at Galaxy Unpacked.
