The assessment showed QD-OLED maintained over 60% luminance at 60-degree viewing angles with color shift below 0.012, significantly outperforming LCD panels which drop to under 20% luminance with twice the color shift.

This verification matters because viewing angles have long been critical for TVs in shared living spaces and are increasingly important for multi-monitor setups in professional environments. Samsung Display credits the superior performance to its front emission structure and quantum dot technology, which emits light evenly in all directions through a Lambertian-like pattern rather than the directional emission typical of other display technologies.

The company is leveraging these results to expand beyond gaming-focused QD-OLED monitors into professional B2B markets including video production, graphic design, and financial trading. Recent launches from ASUS and Dell Technologies with their ProArt and UltraSharp series have already seen positive market reception, with other manufacturers like Acer, Lenovo, and MSI planning professional monitor lineups.
