ASUS Republic of Gamers unveiled the 2026 ROG Strix SCAR 18, a laptop built around a Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus CPU and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 GPU. With a sustained 320 W power envelope, the machine targets AAA gaming, high‑end content creation and AI workloads. Its chassis houses the world’s first 18‑inch 4K 240 Hz mini‑LED panel, promising desktop‑level performance in a portable form.

To tame that power, ROG equips the SCAR 18 with Intelligent Cooling: a 20% thicker vapor chamber, 0.1 mm copper fins covering 246,898 mm², and rear‑hinge exhaust vents that keep hot air away from the hand. Fans push 91% more airflow than the prior model, while a graphite‑copper SSD heatsink maintains PCIe 5.0 speeds under load. Resulting temps stay roughly five degrees lower.

The bottom panel opens tool‑less, exposing SSD and RAM slots with ROG Q‑Latch retention, so owners can upgrade without screws. Connectivity includes dual Thunderbolt 5, 2.5G LAN and Wi‑Fi 7, while Aura RGB lighting circles the base and lid. By merging unprecedented power, a pioneering 4K mini‑LED screen and modular design, the SCAR 18 sets a new benchmark for flagship gaming laptops.
