Audio-Technica announced the release of its ATH-AL5NC Open-Back Wireless Headphones, combining the spacious, natural presentation of an open-back design with the freedom and modern features of wireless listening. Following the success of the R-Series, developed for music production, and the recently expanded ADX Series for audiophile listening, the ATH-AL5NC completes the brand's open-back headphone lineup by combining the natural sound of an open-back design with the convenience of wireless connectivity. Created for Hi-fi enthusiasts, remote workers, gamers, and other listeners who value exceptional sound quality, lasting comfort, and awareness of their surroundings, the ATH-AL5NC offers a rare alternative to both wired open-back headphones and isolating closed-back wireless models.

Specially designed 53 mm dynamic drivers generate a wide, detailed soundstage with pure, natural sound. The ATH-AL5NC supports high-resolution 24-bit/96 kHz wireless audio through LDAC, along with AAC and SBC codecs, allowing listeners to enjoy detailed playback while remaining aware of activity around them. The open-back housings promote airflow to reduce heat buildup, while the lightweight 240 g (8.5 oz) design rests gently over the ears with minimal clamping pressure for extended comfort.

A rechargeable battery provides up to 75 hours of continuous playback, with up to eight hours of listening from a 15-minute quick charge. Multipoint pairing keeps the headphones connected to two Bluetooth devices at once, and a built-in microphone supports virtual meetings and in-game communication. The Audio-Technica CONNECT app provides extensive customization, including adjustable EQ, preset and flat sound settings, codec selection, a headphone-locating function, low-latency mode for smoother gaming and video playback, and a Soundscape function with nature sounds, masking noise and meditation audio.

Noise reduction is available in wireless and wired modes for home listening, while Sound Leakage Reduction mode helps minimize disturbance to others nearby. A 1.2 m (3.9') cable with a 3.5 mm (1/8.
