Microsoft's PowerToys 0.102 introduces CursorHide and Mouse Button Lock to enhance Windows 11 usability. CursorHide automatically hides the mouse cursor during typing or after inactivity, reducing visual clutter. Mouse Button Lock, designed for accessibility and trackball/trackpad users, locks mouse buttons in place after a hold duration, enabling smoother click-and-drag operations.
It supports left, right, and middle buttons with customizable hold times and movement thresholds to prevent misfires. The update also upgrades the Command Palette with a quick-access shelf for up to nine pinned features—like settings, apps, media, clipboard, and the snipping tool—accessible via Alt+F1-9. Additional improvements include fuzzy settings search, enhanced keyboard navigation, Copilot key rebinding, multiple docks, sharper icons, intuitive navigation, and multiple pinned clocks.
Zoom It now supports dictation: pressing space during screen capture records audio, generates a transcript, and copies both the snip and text to the clipboard for easy pasting.
