The PS5 Linux project has expanded its support to include PlayStation 5 Pro models and firmware versions 5.00 through 13.60. Following the departure of original lead developer Andy Nguyen, the project is now maintained by seven contributors, including AI tools like Claude. The updated PS5-linux-loader enables full USB port support, 4K 60 Hz HDMI output, internal Bluetooth, a custom Ethernet driver, and VAAPI hardware video decoding, encoding, and transcoding.
With rapid firmware expansion, support for version 14.10 is expected soon, as a Hypervisor exploit has already been demonstrated. This advancement could eventually allow users to run both Linux and GTA VI on the same PS5 Pro console once the game launches.
