PMM, a leading mouse modder, is crafting a custom shell for the Logitech G Pro X2 Superstrike to cut its stock 60g weight by over 50%. The project aims for a final weight between 29g and 35g, with 39g as a potential midpoint using solid-shell designs. This follows PMM’s track record of trimming 15+ grams from mice like the Razer Viper V3 Pro.

The modder shared development details on X, inviting community input on target weights and aesthetics. While 29g remains ambitious, 33g with battery retention is deemed "ambitious but achievable." PMM also proposed relocating the battery to address forward weight bias complaints, a common issue in gaming peripherals.

The design process involves 3D scanning existing mice to optimize shell contours, a method PMM uses for all custom mods. Given the complexity of reverse-engineering Logitech’s Superstrike, the kit may take months to launch. Competitors like Endgame Gear’s OP1 8K have already benefited from similar ultra-light modifications.

This move underscores the growing demand for lightweight gaming peripherals, as even minor weight reductions enhance reaction times and reduce fatigue. PMM’s focus on precision engineering positions it as a key player in the mouse modding industry, where enthusiasts prioritize shaving grams for competitive edge.
