At CES 2025, Phison unveiled its latest SSD controllers, targeting both mainstream and high-performance segments. The standout is the PS5037-E37T, a DRAM-less controller built on TSMC's efficient 6nm process. It supports M.2-2280, 2242, and 2230 form factors, delivering up to 14.7 GB/s reads and 13 GB/s writes with under 2.3W power consumption, making it ideal for thin-and-light notebooks.

Performance rivals last year's flagship E26 Max14um. For enthusiasts, the new PS5028-E28 client controller features 8 NAND channels and DDR4 cache, enabling up to 8TB capacities. It pushes PCIe 5.0 to its limits, boasting 14.9 GB/s reads, 14 GB/s writes, and up to 3 million IOPS.

Crucially, its 4.5W peak power allows for passive cooling, a significant engineering achievement for sustained high-speed storage without noisy fans.
