At CES 2026, Patriot Memory unveiled its latest internal SSDs, setting new performance benchmarks in the storage industry. The standout is the Patriot Viper PV563H, which the company claims is the world's fastest PCIe Gen 5 DRAM-less SSD. Utilizing a 6 nm DRAM-less controller from Silicon Motion (SMI), this drive achieves sequential read speeds up to 14 GB/s and writes up to 11 GB/s, the highest rates to date for its category.

It comes in 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB capacities and features a passive aluminum heatsink, with a heatsink-free Viper PV563 variant also available. This innovation matters because it challenges the necessity of DRAM cache for high-speed storage, potentially lowering costs for consumers without sacrificing top-tier performance. Patriot also introduced the flagship Viper PV593, which uses the SMI SM2508 controller with DRAM cache, offering up to 14 GB/s reads and 13 GB/s writes.

These launches signal a competitive shift in the SSD market, pushing Gen 5 speeds into the mainstream.
