Other World Computing (OWC) has unveiled a major capacity expansion for its ThunderBlade X12, now offering up to 192TB of storage. This update makes it the first and only Thunderbolt 5 RAID shuttle drive to reach this capacity in a compact form factor. Leveraging Thunderbolt 5 technology, the drive achieves peak write speeds of 6600 MB/s and sustained speeds of 5990 MB/s, effectively doubling the performance of its predecessor.

The system utilizes SoftRAID Premium for robust RAID management. This level of performance and storage density is critical for modern media workflows. It specifically targets film and streaming service production, as well as editors working with multi-cam 4K, 6K, 8K RAW, and 12K video.

Additionally, the high bandwidth supports demanding tasks like stereoscopic 360 VR editing, ensuring professionals can handle massive data loads without compromising speed or portability.
