Nintendo Portal Shows OSM Code, Hinting at Switch 2 Lite

A Bluesky post yesterday flagged an unused OSM tag inside Nintendo’s Account Portal, prompting fans to spot a generic Switch 2 graphic when the code is selected. Nintendo’s current handheld carries the BEE SKU since its June launch, and the three‑letter naming scheme has long been part of the company’s internal nomenclature.

Earlier Switch models were labeled HAC for the launch unit, HDH for the Lite, and HEG for the OLED edition. Pre‑release leaks dubbed the second‑gen console “Ounce,” fueling speculation that OSM means “Ounce Small Model,” hinting at a Switch 2 Lite. The original Lite arrived roughly eighteen months after its flagship, offering a smaller screen, integrated controls and a lower price.

Nintendo’s T239 NVIDIA SoC, built on an 8 nm process, raises doubts about fitting a true Lite chassis without a die shrink. Analysts expect a slimmer silicon revision before a cost‑reduced model could launch. Keep an eye on upcoming firmware updates and supply‑chain whispers that may confirm whether a Switch 2 Lite or an OLED‑enhanced variant is next.
