Recent Reddit posts revealed that the official Lenovo Legion Go BIOS update (N3CN42WW) caused handheld gaming PCs to become unresponsive. Users initially reported being told they would bear repair costs for the issue.

Nearly three weeks after the problems emerged, Lenovo confirmed in a forum post that the failures were "not user error." Consequently, repairs will be handled under warranty. While the root cause remains unidentified, the company stated that out-of-warranty devices should also be repaired free of charge, advising users to check local laws regarding manufacturer defects.

This incident follows previous driver update controversies where Lenovo briefly appeared to discontinue support for the gen-1 handheld before rescinding the statement and promising updates through October 2029. The offending BIOS version has since been removed from Lenovo's website.
