LEGO Skylines has been officially revealed at Gamescom as a LEGO version of the genre-defining city simulation game, Cities: Skylines. LEGO Skylines is being developed by Iceflake and published by Paradox Interactive, the same pair responsible for Cities: Skylines II. The announcement trailer released at Gamescom revealed classic LEGO graphics blended with high-fidelity city-building mechanics.

In LEGO: Skylines, players will have control over all of the typical city-builder stuff, like layout, public services, housing, food, and healthcare, but it seems like the LEGO version of the game will take a more whimsical approach to the genre, rather than sticking to hardcore city simulation mechanics. On the game's Steam page, the developer encourages "enjoy a little just-for-fun fun," and to "make it weird."

LEGO: Skylines is slated to launch on PC via Steam and on the Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series consoles, and the Play Station 5, although no release date has yet been announced. Build a city where everything just clicks Create a city like no other in LEGO Skylines. It's a city-builder you pick up for five minutes and suddenly it's tomorrow. Seriously, it happens.

Build whatever pops into your head or get lost in the details. What happens next is up to you. Make it beautiful. Make it weird. Make it yours. Cover the basics like electricity, food, and water. Then make it a place your citizens will love. Give them homes that one-up the neighbors. Good jobs. Great parks. Donut shops on every corner because that would be awesome. A frankly absurd amount of buildings, decorations, and other cool stuff (customization stuff) will make it easy to create a city that's got your fingerprints all over it.
