John Carpenter's Toxic Commando is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Developed by Saber Interactive and published by Focus Entertainment, the co-op shooter uses the studio's Swarm Engine technology, which also powers World War Z: Aftermath and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. The game throws players into waves of zombie hordes and towering bosses inspired by Carpenter's grindhouse horror aesthetic.

Set in a near-future where an experiment to harness Earth's core goes horribly wrong, the story follows Leon Dorsey's desperate attempt to fix his mistake by hiring a team of mercenaries. When the best teams prove too expensive, he settles for the Toxic Commandos instead. Players can team up with up to three friends across PC and consoles, battling through a semi-open world filled with mutated monstrosities.

The game features vehicle combat, melee weapons including katanas, and a variety of firearms and special abilities. Crossplay support enables full multiplayer functionality across all platforms. Carpenter himself endorsed the game, promising players will need to learn fast when the ghouls attack.
