Intel is reportedly developing a new processor line featuring NVIDIA integrated graphics solutions, with plans to unveil them at CES 2028. Tech journalist Erdi Özüağ broke the news, though specific details about the processors remain under wraps. This marks a significant shift in Intel's GPU strategy, potentially leveraging NVIDIA's graphics expertise for consumer chips.

The company has precedent in third-party GPU integration. Intel's Kaby Lake-G processor from 2018 paired Intel CPU cores with AMD Radeon RX Vega M graphics in a multi-chip module. That limited mobile processor demonstrated Intel's willingness to collaborate on graphics technology when its own solutions weren't ready. Now, the firm appears ready to explore another partnership.

Intel could integrate NVIDIA GPU tiles into its upcoming Panther Lake or Nova Lake processors. These tile-based disaggregated designs might combine Intel compute tiles with truncated SoC components alongside NVIDIA graphics tiles. Such chips could include display engines and media accelerators within the GPU tile itself, consolidating functionality.

Apple is also reportedly in advanced talks with Intel about manufacturing Apple Silicon products using Intel's 18A foundry node. This dual development suggests Intel is positioning its manufacturing capabilities and partnerships to compete more aggressively in both consumer and foundry markets.
