GMKtec announced early access registration for its EVO-X3 compact AI workstation opens June 22, positioning the device as a new category of desktop computing for local AI processing. The mini PC targets developers and professionals who need to run AI models without cloud dependency, offering reduced latency and offline capabilities for demanding workloads.

Powered by AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ 395 flagship APU, the EVO-X3 integrates CPU, GPU, and AI acceleration into a single chip. Despite measuring roughly the size of a PS4 console, it supports up to 128 GB memory and offers 2 TB or 4 TB storage configurations, delivering performance typically found in much larger workstations.

The system addresses three primary markets: local AI computing for developers testing large language models, creative workloads like 3D rendering and video production, and enterprise edge deployments in healthcare, education, and government sectors. GMKtec claims the EVO-X3 balances performance, efficiency, and thermal stability for continuous professional use.

Early access participants can secure a $20 discount on launch. GMKtec will sell the EVO-X3 through official channels globally when it ships, marking the company's push into the emerging local AI computing market segment.
