Gateron unveils silent magnetic Jade switch for quiet keyboards

Gateron has added a silent variant to its magnetic Jade line, targeting gamers and office users who prefer a noiseless keystroke. The Magnetic Jade Silent switch retains the linear feel of the original Jade series while damping both top‑ and bottom‑out sounds with silicone rings. It ships in 70‑switch packs for $56 or 90‑switch packs for $72.

Both starting and actuation forces sit at a light 33 gf and 45 gf respectively, delivering a 3.2 mm travel (±0.2 mm) that feels familiar to Jade Pro users. A circular stem distinguishes the silent model, while a POM stem and top housing keep friction low. Two silicone or rubber rings on the stem sides suppress wobble, and a removable LED diffuser accommodates translucent keycaps.

The silent variant joins a growing roster of magnetic Hall‑effect and TMR switches, following Gateron’s earlier linear release and Keychron’s tactile offerings. Because it uses an n‑pole magnetic design, it should drop into any board built for Jade Gaming, Gravastar UFO or TTC KOM switches without modification. With quiet operation now packaged at a competitive price, the Jade Silent gives noise‑sensitive setups a ready‑made upgrade.
