Supermassive Games unveiled a new live-action trailer for Directive 8020, showcasing its couch co-op Movie Night Mode. The sci-fi survival horror adventure lets up to five players pass a single controller as they navigate critical decisions, split-second actions, and alien threats together. Each choice impacts who lives or dies, creating shared tension and consequences.

Directive 8020 introduces Turning Points, a visual branching story tree allowing players to revisit pivotal decisions. After a character death or regrettable outcome, groups can debate whether to accept consequences or rewind to save their favorites. Survival Mode locks in all consequences permanently for those wanting permanent stakes in their playthroughs.

The game launches May 12, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam), with single-player and couch co-op available at release. Five-player online multiplayer arrives later in a free post-launch update. Supermassive aims to expand its The Dark Pictures series with this collaborative survival experience where trust among friends becomes as important as surviving alien infiltrators.
