Hardware Unboxed has examined a KingBank KFRW DDR5-6000 CL36 memory kit featuring CXMT ICs in a detailed performance comparison. The Australian reviewer tested this Chinese-made kit against a G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo DDR5-6000 CL30 as part of an investigation into alternative memory suppliers amid ongoing global shortages.

Steve Walton compared the AU$649 (~$458 USD) KingBank kit to the former price-to-performance champion G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo, which has seen its price surge from $115 to $490 in recent months. The review highlights how major PC OEMs are reportedly exploring Chinese CXMT memory as an alternative to traditional suppliers like Micron, SK hynix, and Samsung.

While Walton didn't disclose his purchase price, he noted that KingBank prices have increased recently. Interestingly, a Hynix M-die-based KingBank kit was available for AU$599 (~$423 USD) at the same retailer. The reviewer ultimately recommends local consumers consider Chinese-made DRAM when price tags are reasonable, given the current market conditions and availability challenges.
