ASUS Republic of Gamers has unveiled the ROG Kithara, the company's first high-fidelity planar magnetic gaming headset. Developed in partnership with HIFIMAN, a renowned planar headphone innovator, the Kithara features ROG-customized 100 mm HIFIMAN planar magnetic drivers that deliver audiophile-grade audio with exceptional frequency extension and minimal distortion.

The headset's open-back design creates an extremely wide sound stage with clear separation of bass, mids, and treble, enhancing spatial awareness for gamers. An on-cable full-band MEMS boom microphone ensures clean voice pickup across a 20 Hz-20 kHz frequency range, with separate signal channels preventing crosstalk and high SNR minimizing background noise.

For connectivity, the Kithara includes a headphone cable with balanced 4.4 mm and single-ended 3.5/6.3 mm plugs, compatible with most DACs, amplifiers, and gaming consoles. A USB-C-to-dual-3.5 mm adapter is also provided for laptop and mobile users. The headset is now available in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland at a recommended retail price of EUR/CHF 319.90.
