ASUS has launched the ProArt PA40SU, a premium USB4 external SSD enclosure designed for creative professionals who need fast, reliable storage. The device leverages USB4 technology to deliver transfer speeds up to 40 Gbps, making it ideal for handling large 4K video files, high-resolution asset transfers, and frequent backups. It supports NVMe M.2 SSDs in both 2230 and 2280 form factors, offering flexibility for different storage needs.

The enclosure features a four-level smart cooling fan and thermal pad to prevent heat buildup during extended workloads. In internal testing, ASUS says the PA40SU transferred up to 2960 GB of data continuously over 30 minutes without throttling. The Stealth Black chassis measures just 13.5 mm thick and includes a tool-free push-to-open mechanism for quick SSD installation or replacement in the field.

The ProArt PA40SU includes the exclusive ProArt SSD Dashboard, providing real-time monitoring of SSD status, health, and performance metrics.
