ASRock has announced that its Z890I Nova WiFi R2.0 motherboard has achieved a significant milestone in DDR5 memory technology. The micro-ATX board successfully enabled CQDIMM support, combining two Kingston 4-rank DDR5 128 GB modules to reach DDR5-7400 MT/s operation with a total capacity of 256 GB.

This achievement surpasses the DDR5-7200 MT/s limit found on most platforms today. CQDIMM technology, based on a 4-rank CUDIMM design, addresses the longstanding challenge of balancing large memory capacity with high bandwidth. Each module offers up to 128 GB capacity at native DDR5-7200 MT/s speeds.

The breakthrough represents a major advancement for users requiring extreme memory performance. AI computing, content creation, and professional workloads that demand both high capacity and high bandwidth now have a viable platform. ASRock's optimized circuit design and hardware-software tuning made this milestone possible, pushing the boundaries of what's achievable with current DDR5 memory technology.
