At CES 2026, ASRock unveiled a refreshed lineup of motherboards targeting both AMD and Intel platforms. With both CPU giants in the midst of a desktop refresh cycle, these new boards are designed to capitalize on updated chipsets. The spotlight was on AMD's B850 chipset with the debut of the ASRock B850M Challenger WiFi.

This new model appears to be a microATX variant of the existing ATX version, offering a compact form factor while retaining key features like a robust VRM design, Wi-Fi 7 support, and extensive rear I/O. Notably, the prototype showed a reduction in PCIe x4 slots, though it maintained spacing between full-size slots. For Intel users, ASRock introduced the Challenger B860 WiFi, designed for the LGA 1851 socket.

While specifications are still emerging, these announcements signal continued hardware availability for the latest CPU architectures. For PC builders, this means more options for smaller, feature-rich builds without waiting for entirely new platform generations. These refreshes focus on form factor and aesthetic updates, providing consumers with more choice as the 2026 hardware cycle matures.
