AMD has brought back the Ryzen 7 5800X3D as a 10th Anniversary Edition processor, featuring identical specifications to the discontinued 2023 model but with special packaging and a Carbice Ice Pad thermal solution included. The 8-core, 16-thread chip runs up to 4.50 GHz with 96 MB of L3 cache using 3D V-Cache technology.

Priced at $350 and available June 25, AMD positions this as the fastest gaming processor for DDR4 platforms, claiming roughly 10% better performance than Intel's Core i9-14900K when both use DDR4-3600 memory. This revival targets enthusiasts who missed the original launch or want proven gaming performance on existing AM4 motherboards.

The company also introduced the Ryzen 7 7700X3D, a $330 processor built on the older Zen 4 architecture despite being newer than the 5800X3D. This 8-core chip matches the same 4.50 GHz boost and 96 MB L3 cache configuration, slotting between the 5800X3D and upcoming Zen 5-based 9800X3D in AMD's lineup.

Both processors emphasize AMD's 3D V-Cache strategy for gaming performance, though the 7700X3D lacks official performance benchmarks. These releases give builders more options across different budgets while extending support for DDR4 memory platforms.
