After layoffs in mid-2025 following Splitgate: Arena Reloaded, 1047 Games launched Empulse, a Titanfall-inspired movement shooter, into early access in late June 2026. Three weeks later, the studio conducted another round of layoffs.

Principal technical sound designer Max Mc Coy, who worked on both titles, confirmed the cuts via LinkedIn: "I was caught up in the layoffs at 1047 Games today... this be my second layoff in under two years is unfortunate." The studio has not publicly commented.

Empulse peaked at 2,860 concurrent players three days post-launch, now hovering at 1,200–1,400 daily peaks despite positive early reviews. For comparison, the original Splitgate hit 67,724 concurrent players in August 2021.
