1047 Games' Titanfall Spiritual Successor Named Empulse

1047 Games, the studio behind Splitgate, has named its upcoming project Empulse, positioning it as a spiritual successor to Titanfall. The movement-focused shooter draws inspiration from both Titanfall and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, featuring the fast-paced traversal mechanics that made the original franchise popular.

According to Insider Gaming's pre-alpha footage review, Empulse includes grappling hooks, wall running, and boost pads for mobility. Players can also pilot mechs across the battlefield, equipped with shields and missile launchers. A Team Deathmatch mode rounds out the competitive offerings, though the game remains in early development stages.

The announcement arrives after EA canceled an unannounced Titanfall title earlier this year, leaving fans disappointed. For the community seeking that Titanfall-style gameplay experience, Empulse represents the closest thing to an official continuation, though it lacks any confirmed release timeline or teaser materials. While 1047 Games has only shown pre-alpha footage, the project fills a gap in the market for movement shooters since Respawn shifted focus away from the franchise.

The mech gameplay, featuring Titanfall-style pilotable vehicles with shields and missile launchers, suggests 1047 Games is directly addressing what made the original series compelling. However, without a release date or substantial gameplay demonstration, fans should temper expectations despite the promising early footage.
