Three compounding pharmacies in Texas have recalled injectable glutathione products due to elevated bacterial endotoxins, leading to dozens of illnesses. The products, sold by Victory Medical Center Pharmacy, Optimal Balance Pharmacy, and Centric Compounding, include Myer’s Cocktail and Tri-Immune Boost. Injected use has caused symptoms like fever, chills, severe headache, and rapid heartbeat.

At least three people have been hospitalized, with one critically ill requiring intensive care. The CDC has received reports from Texas, Washington, Florida, and New York, and more cases are expected. The FDA notes this is not the first such incident, having issued a similar warning in 2019.
