Microsoft has unveiled two new AI-powered security tools, MDASH with MAI-Cyber-1-Flash and Project Perception, which the company claims outperform competing platforms. MDASH achieved a 96 percent score on the Cyber GYM benchmark, 12 points higher than Anthropic's Mythos and surpassing Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT. The new MDASH also costs half as much as its predecessor.

Project Perception utilizes specialized AI agents for red-, blue-, and green-team functions—identifying vulnerabilities, assessing risk, and implementing corrective actions. The platform intelligently selects AI models based on task effectiveness and cost, informed by ongoing research and evaluation. Microsoft states Project Perception can handle 90 percent of tasks more affordably than rivals, reserving expensive alternatives for the remaining 10 percent.

These tools address the accelerating speed and scale of AI-driven cyberattacks, offering a modern approach to securing complex digital environments. While currently in preview, they aim to help security teams manage vast data and keep pace with emerging threats, offering a potential solution to the challenges posed by the evolving cyber landscape.
