Mercedes‑AMG unveiled the all‑electric GT 63 4‑Door Coupé on Los Angeles’ Sixth Street Viaduct, turning the concept‑car dream into a production model. The sleek silhouette departs from the brand’s previous EV styling, borrowing a low‑slung, Kamm‑tail silhouette that recalls a Porsche Panamera. Inside, a digital cockpit replaces analog gauges, while a skateboard chassis houses a central spine for battery modules and “foot garages.”

Compared with the outgoing GT, the new Coupe is 1.7 inches shorter yet 1.4 inches longer overall, with an 89 mm longer wheelbase. Two YASA axial‑flux motors sit at the rear and one up front, delivering 805 hp in the GT 55 and 1,153 hp in the GT 63. The motors are 67 percent lighter than conventional units, enabling a curb weight around 5,400 lb while sprinting 0‑60 mph in 2.0 seconds.

The GT houses a 106 kWh lithium‑ion pack built from 2,660 cylindrical cells, delivering up to 474 miles WLTP range. An 800 V architecture supports 600 kW charging, adding roughly 287 miles in ten minutes and reaching 80 percent capacity in 11 minutes on compatible fast chargers. With a drag coefficient of 0.22 and 4.5 mi/kWh efficiency, the vehicle rivals premium EVs while retaining AMG’s performance pedigree.
