Ferrari 12Cilindri Review: A V12 Throwback

Ferrari's new 12Cilindri Spider marks a return to the brand's core identity. As the successor to the 812 Superfast, it ditches modern trends like all-wheel drive and turbocharging. Instead, it focuses on a front-engine, rear-wheel drive layout with a spectacular naturally aspirated V12 engine.

Inspired by the iconic 365 GTB Daytona, the 12Cilindri blends classic GT styling with modern tech. Its 6.5L V12 produces 819 hp and revs to 9,500 rpm. The car remains relatively lightweight at 3,571 pounds, prioritizing agile handling and a pure driving experience over sheer power.

Ferrari equips the Spider with an active aero system and four-wheel steering for enhanced response. An eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and a sport-tuned chassis give it a sharper character than rivals like the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante. It's a luxurious cruiser that can also tackle winding roads with precision.
