Crytek has reportedly conducted another round of layoffs, marking the second in as few years following February 2025 cuts, per Insider Gaming. The September 2026 layoffs affected teams in Istanbul, Türkiye, and Frankfurt, Germany. A whole quality assurance team was laid off at the Istanbul office, while Germany layoffs primarily impacted social media, QA, and publishing teams.

The cuts were described as unexpected, with at least 30 people losing their jobs. At the time of writing, Crytek's page still lists the "4th installment in the Crysis franchise" as a project in active development, though it was reportedly put on hold in 2024. Although Crysis 4 development was previously paused, it was seemingly not yet cancelled; however, this round of layoffs may have effectively ended those plans.

Notably, The Hunt: Showdown remains in active development with a healthy player base, reporting over 20,000 peak concurrent daily players on Steam DB. The studio faces ongoing restructuring amid shifting priorities in its game portfolio.
