Felicia Schröder, 19, delivered a star-in-waiting performance in Real Madrid's 1-1 UEFA Women's Champions League draw with Paris Saint-Germain, but a lack of clinical finishing cost her team all three points. Signed this summer in a deal labeled world-record by her former club and agent, Schröder was one of five summer signings in Madrid's starting XI alongside Andreia Jacinto, Elisa Senss, Arianna Caruso and Janou Levels.

Schröder put Madrid ahead after just two minutes, finishing Caruso's cross. At times she looked unplayable, dancing past PSG challenges with strength and pace. She had seven shots and a personal expected-goals total of 1.62, more than twice as many as any other player.

But the second goal never came. PSG equalized through Sakina Karchaoui's 71st-minute penalty after Maëlle Lakrar pulled back Lea Morissaint. Madrid had five big chances to PSG's one, all falling to Schröder. She had also scored in both qualifying round games against Ajax. Schröder and Linda Caicedo will be the creative heartbeat of Madrid's new team as they aim to go beyond the quarterfinal stage.
