The 76ers and Flyers have unveiled renderings of their new arena on the former Spectrum site in South Philadelphia, targeting a 2030 opening before the WNBA season. The project, a 50-50 partnership between Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) and Comcast Spectacor, is the largest fully privately funded arena in city history. Sixers managing partner Josh Harris and Comcast chairman Brian Roberts emphasized the arena’s significance as a new era for Philadelphia sports, honoring the legacy of Ed Snider and the Spectrum while delivering a world-class fan experience.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver and NHL commissioner Gary Bettman praised the investment, noting the arena will host NBA, WNBA, NHL events and other world-class attractions. The organizations project nearly 15,000 jobs, $6 billion in economic activity, and hundreds of millions in new tax revenue over the next decade. The Flyers’ return to their original grounds marks a symbolic homecoming, with Flyers governor Dan Hilferty prioritizing a return to Stanley Cup contention.

The Spectrum-inspired design includes outdoor gathering spaces, fan plazas, and a staircase echoing the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
