Apple today announced new texture and grain controls for Photographic Styles with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Photographic Styles are tone presets that adjust color and warmth as a photo is captured, not as a filter, while preserving skin tones.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max gain a redesigned computational imaging pipeline for the 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera that Apple says produces sharper, more detailed shots. The new controls build on that pipeline, letting users dial in their desired appearance for more creative control.

It is not clear if older models like the iPhone 17 Pro, which support the latest Photographic Styles, will get the feature via a software update.
