Available on the iPhone 14 and newer and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and newer, Emergency SOS via satellite lets you text emergency services when you are in a supported area without Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity. In Norway, the feature requires iOS 26.4 and watchOS 26.4 or later. Apple warns that satellite connectivity might not work in places above 62° latitude.

The feature extends Apple's satellite capabilities to a new country, allowing users in remote areas to reach emergency services even without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage. The requirement for the latest software versions ensures compatibility with the satellite infrastructure.

This expansion continues Apple's rollout of satellite-based emergency features, which began with the iPhone 14 series. The warning about latitudes above 62° highlights the technical limitations of satellite communication in polar regions.
